Transition replaces one clip's end portion with another clip.
Command + T will add a basic transition between the clips. This will be of 1 second
If the audio is not detached, the transition will be apply to your audio too
You can manually select either start or end portion and apply the transition to your desired positionYou can manually adjust the length of transition by mouse or by giving timecode value
Choose verity of transition that are available in FCP
From the above list of transition, you can set your preferred one as default transition.
You can manure the transition in inspector window.

To resize, Click the pop-up menu in the lower-left corner of the viewer and choose Transform, then adjust the Transform effect using the onscreen controls
Use blue handles at each corner to do the adjustments
You can adjust the same with the help of inspector windowSmart confirm is an easy method to resize your image. go to Modify>Smart confirm

Ken Burns

The Ken Burns effect creates a pan and zoom effect using the start and end positions you define
Click the pop-up menu in the lower-left corner of the viewer and choose Crop (or press Shift-C)
Click the Ken Burns button at the bottom of the viewer
Drag the green handles To choose the part of the image that appears at the start of the effect,
Drag the red handles to choose the part of the image that appears at the end of the effect

You can use the Distort effect to skew or distort the image. This will allows you to create a 3D perspective to the image
Click the pop-up menu in the lower-left corner of the viewer and choose Distort (or press Option-D) choose Distort
Adjust the effect using the onscreen controls
