Split Edits

In Split edit, You can set separate video and audio start and end points in an individual clip. You can use split edits in many different situations, once such example is to start the audio of a conversation before its video clip is introduced.
Select the clip which you wanted for split edit
Separate the audio by Control + S or by double clicking the clips audio waveform
Drag the start point of the video to right
Drag the start point of the audio to left
Adjust the audio levels to make it smooth by key frames

Zoom the time line by Command + Plus Sign (+)
Zoom out the time line by Command + Minus Sign (–)
Use Zoom Tool by pressing Z key Once selected just click or drag the are where you want to Zoom. Abd use Option key to zoom out
Shift + Z will fit to zoom into the available window size
Use Zoom slider to choose difference appearance controls

You can use the J, K, and L keys to play through a project with different speeds
Use skimmer or play head to move across
Navigate frame by frame by left and right arrow keys
Navigate subframe by subframe by Option + left and right arrow keys
Use Down and Up arrow keys to move to previous or next edit points
Press Home key to move to start of the timeline
Press End Key to move to the end of the timeline
Press Control + ' (Apostrophe) and Control + , (Semicolon) to move to the next and previous marker
Navigate using time code
Press Control + P and enter the time code value

Markers are reference points you can place within clips to locate, identify, annotate, and navigate to specific frames. Markers helps to Sync clips, add editing notes, and to manage to do items.
Markers are classified as
Standard Markers (blue)
Chapter markers (orange)
to-do items (red)
Completed to-do items (green)

Comma (,) - Move the selection left by one frame
Shift + Comma (,) - Move the selection left by 10 frames
Period (.) - Move the selection right by one frame
Shift + Period (.) - Move the selection right by 10 frames
Option + Comma (,) - Move the selection left by one subframe:
Option + Shift + Comma (,) - Move the selection left by 10 subframes
Move the selection right by one subframe: Press Option + Period (.)

Option + Command + Up arrow will move the clip up from primary storyline without ripple
Option + Command + Down arrow will shift down the clip from primary storyline without ripple

Option + Left Bracket - to trim off the start of the clip

Enable audio meter by Shift + Command + 8 or by selecting it from below the viewer
Control + Option + 1 to set to waveform only
Adjust the wave form size = Control + Option + Up/Down keys

You can adjust the loudness or volume from Audio inspector or directly from the timeline.
-12 to -16 considered as the standard loudness while recording
You can enable the equalizer and customize it from inspector window
From effects you can choose the desired effect to apply in any of your audio or video clip
Playback levels are shown in three colors - Green, Yellow, and red. Red indicate the peak levels.
Always keep it in green levels so that you avoid clipping
Reference wave forms (If not showing set the same in references) shows the maximum visual resolution of your wave form
You can see the average volume levels from audio meter or by keeping your pointer on the volume bar on any clip.
You can adjust the volume change from inspector or directly from the timeline by adjusting the vertical bar (volume bar)
Press Control + Option + L and enter the db value and press enter (Applies to single o multiple clips)
You can select any range in a clip (press R) and increase or decrease the volume with the help of above methods

Keep the audio levels at -12 dBFS (decibel full scale) for a 16 bit audio
Keep the audio levels at -18 dBFS for 24 bit audio.

You will learn how to add titles and credits to your movie.
Open Titles and generators tab located at the top left corner.
Choose the title by skimming over each one
Once decided you can drag and drop it into the timeline, Or just double click on it .
You can edit the title either in inspector window or directly by double clicking on the added title.
Control + T will add the default title
you can add lower thirds from Titles and generators tab
Control + Shift + T will add the default lower third
Text opacity, position, and other adjustments can be done in Inspector window
